Franklin Partners Engages Wright Heerema Architects to Redevelop Former OfficeMax Headquarters

Wright Heerema Architects is thrilled to be partnering with Franklin Partners on an exciting new redevelopment project in Chicago’s western suburbs. Working together, we’re reinventing the former OfficeMax headquarters at 263 Shuman Blvd. in Naperville.

Recognizing the growing demand among suburban Millennials for amenity-rich workplace experiences, we’re transforming the former headquarters into a socially-activated, multi-tenant building. The main entrance and atrium will be redesigned with a grand staircase and stadium seating leading down to a bright, airy lower level featuring baristas, a market-style deli, full fitness center, coworking lounges and other amenities more typical of a Chicago high-rise than the surrounding suburban offices. The redevelopment plans are in progress, with construction scheduled to begin later this year and completion set for early 2019.

“This is an opportunity where (companies) that are looking for a multi-tenant building have not had an opportunity in that marketplace. They always review the same types of buildings,” said Ray Warner, Franklin Partners. “We’re really bringing a new type of Class A building into the market that’s amenity-driven.”

Franklin Partners and Wright Heerema have redeveloped properties together for more than 15 years in Chicago, its suburbs and in Western Michigan. Bringing amenities typically found in popular city centers to smaller cities and suburbs, we have transformed the workplace experience for commercial tenants, their employees and the surrounding communities.
