AIA Chicago’s transFORM is an interdisciplinary, interactive series focused on skill building for the business of architecture. The program centers on transformational leadership, utilizing strategic, tactical and operational skill sets designed to affect change in an architect’s career and within their firm. The curriculum consisted of monthly modules to arm “high potential” professionals with the business skills necessary to succeed in the industry by integrating real-world competencies with leadership fundamentals.
Iana Kolev, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP & Natalie Hicks, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP BD+C proudly represented Wright Heerema Architects throughout the program. They focused on the following industry-relevant modules:
At transFORM’s closing ceremony on February 28, Iana’s and Natalie’s groups reported on how they have applied skills learned throughout the series to affect change, allowing their peers to share feedback about their applied growth.
“transFORM exposed me to leadership and entrepreneurial-based topics that are vital to growing my career,” said Natalie Hicks. “Our small groups were made up of professionals at various stages in their careers. Working alongside industry veterans offered me the opportunity to learn from their invaluable advice, tap into their helpful resources, and grow my confidence as an emerging Chicago architect.”
