Wright Heerema Architects revitalized 222 S. Riverside Plaza with a tenant lounge, conferencing center, library and a private tenant patio.
Initially, a colder, uninviting environment greeted tenants on the ground level. WHA transformed it through a hospitality-inspired design approach, ensuring comfort and functionality throughout the space for office tenants to enjoy. The patio became a private breakout space for tenants and the lounge features various seating arrangements for productivity, relaxation, and social interactions. These include cozy nooks for focused work, communal groupings for meetings, and casual lounge areas for informal gatherings.
The renovation at 222 S. Riverside not only secured a major lease renewal but also reinforced the property’s long-term value by creating a workplace that meets modern tenant expectations. By blending hospitality-inspired design with functional amenities, the space now serves as a key asset in retaining tenants, attracting new interest, and ensuring the building remains competitive in a shifting market.
